Many applications ask for a percentage, but your result shows a CGPA. Here is how the common conversions work.
10 point scale
Many boards, such as CBSE in India, use: Percentage = CGPA x 9.5.
Example: 8.5 x 9.5 = 80.75%.
4 point scale
A simple estimate is: Percentage = (CGPA / 4) x 100.
Example: 3.5 / 4 x 100 = 87.5%.
Percentage to CGPA
On a 10 point scale, divide the percentage by 9.5. For 76 percent, 76 / 9.5 = 8.0 CGPA.
Important warning
These formulas are common, not universal. Each university or board can publish its own conversion table. If a form needs an official figure, use the formula your institution gives you.
